What is EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage is list of stages for teachures to follow to ensure that these areas are covered and the children have a wide range of skills and knolage in thier early lives and it provides the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
Our production 'The Snow Queen' fits into the EYFS sistom
This is from The EYFS framework link from thier page
1.6 Educational programmes must involve activities and experiences for children, as follows. Expressive arts and design involves enabling children to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials, as well as providing opportunities and encouragement for sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in art, music, movement, dance, role-play, and design and technology.
I think our production of 'The Snow Queen' fits in this catergoey with its magical background music and furmilure tunes they may know from tv, maybe a short Garden dance as Gerda enters the garden, movement none from them but (Gerda's adventure from corner to corner), role-play (charactors from the snow queen, talking animals), design's (from costumes and different set designs for each world) and technology (lightings, projector), our production will be an entertaining experiance for the kids and will be aducational in the theatre industy (aducational experiences). It has no phsical experiance for the kids so maybe at the end we get them to join in a song and dance or get them to make snow flakes from paper and decorrate them using cequins, fluffy balls, craft bits (adds to theme) or get them to draw thier favorite chractors from the play for them to take home and remember the play when they see thier drawing or both so they have a chose from drawing or creating snow flakes.
